Beads
Beaded embroidery is one of the most ancient kinds of decorative art that arisen some thousand years ago and hasn't lost its popularity up to now. Archaeologists found the first glass beads in tombs of Egyptian pharaohs. But the highest skill in manufacturing bead of magnificent quality, every possible colours and shades was achieved by famous Venetian glass blowers in the Middle Ages. The technology of manufacturing bead was not very changed for the centuries that have elapsed since then, the same as art to make decorative works of it, which has still required patience, imagination, assiduity and skill. The collection of unique beaded embroideries and laces is kept in the museum. There one can see articles intended for church use: icons, candlesticks, and palls of the chalices. But the greatest amount of beaded wares was made for design of interior. These were beaded glass-holders, pictures and panel. They loved to decorate both graceful ladies' and man's accessories with bead. These were cases for hours and coins, tobacco-pouches, handbags, purses. A lot of female clothes trimmed with bead and the suspension brackets, necklaces, bracelets and belts are assembled in the museum. At one time our great-grandmothers wore them, and a modern fashionmonger would hardly refuse them
